About:
An Uncertain Age is devoted to helping people navigate care for seniors, whether they are managing remotely or caretaking directly. We provide support, link to resources, and a sympathetic ear.
This is for the caregivers, past, present and future. You are seen.
Who:
I'm Deidre Woollard. I, like millions of people around the United States, have wrestled with how to care for aging parents and loved ones. When I was 26, my father was diagnosed with cancer. That two-year experience taught me a lot about the medical system. For the last several decades, I've balanced trying to care for my mother remotely with holding a career in writing, marketing, real estate, and finance.
When my mother's condition worsened and I moved in with her full time, I decided to devote myself to others who are wrestling with these really tough situations. I don't have all of the answers. I have no formal training but I see this as one of the largest issues facing our country as a whole and my journalistic background led me to dig deeper and share what I learned along the way.
No one should be alone in this journey. We invite you to tell your story if you are willing to share. We are compiling the stories of people who are also on a caregiving path to better help others. All stories are confidential and will not be shared without permission.
